Description
This photo was taken by me during a visit to Brodhecker Farm in Newton, NJ. They have a beautiful field filled with sunflowers and is a popular destination, particularly for photographers.
There are about 70 different species of sunflowers, however, typically it refers to the common , domesticated sunflower. They can grow to 120 inches or more. They have bright yellow flowers and red colored ray florets. While growing, the young flower will face the sun and will stop when it is mature. They are annual or perennial plants, however, the perennials aren’t alway desirable as they propagate rapidly and become invasive. Sunflowers are an important agricultural crop in the midwest and are a native north American plant. Sunflower seeds are a popular snack.
Watermark will NOT appear on purchased products.
